Frozen Coal Cracker

American frozen coal crackers are designed to handle a high volume of rain, sleet, snow or moisture frozen coal directly from coal cars or outdoor storage.

Operators can save significant maintenance and labor costs when renewal or replacement of teeth is necessary.  Because the teeth are mounted on sectionalized cutting discs, which can be removed individually as required, there is no need to take out and replace the entire drum.

Also important is the ratchet adjustable breaker plate.   The adjustment feature allows users to break frozen coal to its pre-frozen lump size.

Standard Features

The frame is fabricated from plate steel and structural steel shapes with abutting surfaces machined for a dust-tight fit.
An inspection port is provided on the side frame for checking of the tooth profile on the roll shells.
The frame design provides for removal of the feed hopper or disassembly of the cracker.
The removal and installation of the roll assembly complete with bearings for the crushing chamber is accomplished without disconnecting the feed hoppers or movement of the crusher frame and without external lifting equipment.
When removed, the roll assembly is stored on the front of the frame of the crusher assembly.
With the roll assembly removed, the coal simply flows through the housing of the coal cracker.
The breaker plate is a stiffened heavy-duty weldment with bronze bushings around the pivoting shaft.
An abrasion-resistant manganese steel wear plate is bolted to the breaker plate assembly.
The breaker plate assembly is externally adjustable to compensate for wear of the roll teeth.
The bearings are heavy-duty, spherical roller bearings and are mounted on substantial pedestals.
The machine requires only grease lubrication, since its operation is at an approximate speed of 25 RPM.
The FCC series machines are suitable for continuous 24-hour operation with frequent start-ups and shut-downs.
All the components of these machines are easily accessible stainless steel center hinge pin to eliminate corrosion and seizure.
A spring-loaded breaker plate allows uncrushable material to pass through the cracker without damage and automatically resets the breaker plate assembly to its original position.
The rotor is statically balanced to .003".
The entire machine is provided with lifting lugs.
