For
dependable efficient separation of aluminum cans and other non-ferrous metals
from household or industrial waste, Walker now offers eddy current separation
equipment with ceramic or rare-earth magnet material, depending on the
application.
Eddy
current separation is based on the use of a magnetic rotor with alternating
polarity, spinning rapidly inside a drum driven by a conveyor belt as
non-ferrous metals pass over the drum, the alternating magnetic field creates
eddy currents that repel the material away from the conveyor. While other
materials drop off at the end of the conveyor, the non-ferrous metals are
propelled over a splitter for separation. Walker's eddy current separation
equipment can be used to remove non-ferrous metals from municipal solid waste,
car shredding operations, glass culler, electronic scrap, UBC reclamation, etc.
A
pioneer in the use of magnetic technology for industrial application since
1896, O.S. Walker can design and manufacture a complete eddy current conveyor
system or simply furnish the magnetic drum or any other piece of separation
equipment to meet your requirements. Systems can be designed into new
separation facilities or incorporated into existing installations.
